Volunteering at Presbyterian Homes in Bloomington

Team Lucky Duck spent an afternoon this month, playing Bingo with a few of the residents at the Presbyterian Homes and Services of Bloomington. This month Team Lucky Duck volunteered with Neighbors, Inc. at the Summer Meal Program at Kaposia Elementary School in South Saint Paul. The program is a federally funded program that provides lunches for school aged children under 18. At Kaposia we served children in pre-school through 5th grade. We volunteered this month at Books for Africa. This organization collects donated books and ships them to countries in Africa. The only thing that the countries pay for are the shipping costs. Books for Africa has been operating for 29 years and they have shipped to nearly all the African countries. Loaves and Fishes

This month Team Lucky Duck volunteered with the Loaves and Fishes program. We helped prepare a meal that served about 45 people at the Easter Lutheran Church in Eagan, MN. The program sources food from their gardens, Farm for All, around the Twin Cities, Second Harvest Heartland, The Food Group and Zero Percent. Volunteering with 360 Communities

Team Lucky Duck spent an afternoon at the 360 Communities Foodshelf in Burnsville. It was a great time spent giving back and supporting a great organization in our own backyard. 360 Communities focuses on three main areas: preventing violence, ensuring school success and promoting long-term self-sufficiency.
