As we all know, the winter months can get very long and it is easy to feel cooped up inside. This year, bundle up and get outside to enjoy these family fun activities!
Holiday Fest in Downtown Shakopee, December 4, 1 – 5pm
Holiday Fest is an open streets celebration to kick-off the holiday season. This fun-for-the-whole-family event will feature a market, pictures with Santa, a walk-through parade, tree lighting, and fireworks!
Ice Fishing Lake of the Isles-Family Group Trip, January 15, 12 – 5pm
Spend the day on Lake of the Isles learning all aspects of the game from drilling holes, to jigging for panfish and setting tip ups for big northern pike.
St. Paul Winter Carnival January 28 – February 3
Dozens of free events, both traditional favorites and new attractions, will entertain those of all ages. Most events take place in downtown Saint Paul, in and around Rice Park and Landmark Center, as well as at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
Snowshoeing February 21 5:30pm
FREE DROP-IN PROGRAM! Snowshoeing is a great way to get outside and enjoy the winter! A naturalist will be available to show you the basics and then you are free to explore the park on your own. Bring yourself, your neighbors, your friends, and even your kids!
Ice Skating
Minneapolis has outdoor ice rinks at parks citywide. Many of them offer separate spaces for general skating and recreational uses such as hockey, broomball and pond hockey.
