This month, we volunteered with Second Harvest Heartland at their Brooklyn Park location. Our project was to work on bagging onions into 40 lb bags. During our two hour shift we bagged 354 bags! They estimated that each of our team members were part of providing 519 meals to the hungry. Second Harvest Heartland serves those who are food insecure in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. It is very powerful to hear that 1 in 9 Minnesotans including 1 in 6 children don’t know where their next meal is coming from. It was a great afternoon serving a organization that is helping people in our own backyard.
