In February each year, we volunteer with Junior Achievement in a local elementary school. Junior Achievement is a curriculum that is taught by volunteers over five weeks in their classroom. The program focuses on teaching children practical ideas about business, community and entreprenuership. This year we are teaching the second graders and we focus on production of goods, taxes and how money flows through a community.
In this lesson, we were focused on production and make a product to sell. We were making donuts in a bakery. Next time, we’ll talk about making money by selling those donuts to pay the workers who worked to produce the donuts.
We’d love to volunteer at an organization that you support. Please reach out to us if you know of a program that could use our help!
