This month Team Lucky Duck volunteered at a food shelf in Eagan called The Open Door. We sorted through donated produce to stock the shelves before the store opened for customers.

One of the best parts of volunteering at local food shelves is seeing all the donated produce from the local grocery stores. With so much food waste in our country it is reassuring to see the local stores make the effort to send the items to the food shelf instead of just to the trash. While we were there, a huge delivery from Second Harvest Heartland came in. They are a huge distributor and partner with some of the smaller food shelves like The Open Door.
