As we head into the holiday weekend, it’s important to remember those who don’t get the day off from their hard work. Here are a few ways you can give back to our troops over the long weekend.
You can get your family, friends and neighbors involved in collecting much-appreciated items to send to a specific deployed platoon. You can find care package ideas here and feel free to include handwritten notes and cards to show your appreciation.
You can learn about the military history of Minnesota. Labor Day weekend is Fort Snelling’s celebration of World War I, an educational event for the whole family.
You can pay your respects to those who have dedicated their lives to serving our country at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery by bringing flowers and cards.
You can donate gently used items or make a financial contribution to the Disabled American Veterans of Minnesota.
And of course, thank you to everyone who works tirelessly at their jobs every day to help our economy and well-being of our country! Here’s to a relaxing long weekend!
