One of the fun parts of being in real estate for the better part of a decade is to see how the trends come and go. Our favorite one to watch is paint colors. Painting is one of the most economical ways to give a house, room or piece of furniture an upgrade. Each year, they announce colors of the year and it is interesting to see how that announcement is seen in practice and our Minnesota marketplace. This year, Better Homes and Gardens is suggesting that more subtle tones are overtaking the bold colors that we saw last year. We are seeing more pastels, earthy and creamy tones. There are still some bright pops of color highlighted as accent colors.

To see all the details and the information for each color, visit Better Homes and Garden’s article. If you are thinking of making a change and would like to know how it might affect a future home sale, let us know. We are happy to help or make suggestions. Usually if selling is in your near future, we suggest a modern neutral hue for most spaces.
