The housing market in the Twin Cities is off to a busy start! With interest rates affecting the end of 2023’s market, it was hard to predict what the early spring market of 2024 would look like. So far, we are seeing a little bit more inventory of homes for sale compared to this time last year. We had 3,892 new listings in January 2024 compared to 3,298 listings in January 2023. This is 18% change and presents more options for buyers who are looking to purchase a home and more competition for our sellers who are on the market. However, sellers are still seeing a high median sales price. Compared to last year, the median sales price is up 3.1%.
